I love fall!

Have I mentioned fall is my favorite season??  I LOVE it!  Where we live we usually get, oh, three weeks of fall before the depressing winter sets in.  I don't know if it made the national news but the last few weeks we've have rain of biblical proportions - luckily no sump pump failure this time! - but there might be a day here and there that peeked through of TRUE fall.

And I just saw the weather report for this coming week.  It looks FAB!  Highs in the low 60's, high 50"s....  clear or very slight cloudy sky....  leaves are still turning...  THIS is Fall!

And how do I like to spend fall?  Outside with a big cup-o-Timmy's!

Outnumbered asked me "what about the Tim Bits"??  I should explain:  "Timmy's" is my affectionate name for Tim Hortons - only the best coffee EVER!  "Tim Bits" are their version of donut holes.  But that's not how I spend my weekends.   As soon as I get up I brew up some Timmy's coffee at home and then head out to a great little local bakery for some yummies.  So I'm still getting my favorite coffee and still supporting a a local establishment.  And I love this bakery - not only are they yummy but they open at 6AM so I can go as soon as I get up and walk right in with my cup of coffee, still in my jammies.  That's my kind of place!

If you've never heard of Tim Horton's it's understandable.  It's a Canadian coffee/ donut place.  Their only US locations appear to be in the Eastern US along the Canadian border.  I was first introduced to Timmy's when I live in Toledo, OH.  We now have them here!!  Several have opened in the past year in our town and surrounding 'burbs.  I'm in HEAVEN!!

I'm not a Starbucks fan - I find it bitter as though they over roasted their beans.  I was a huge Dunkin Donuts fan but I find the coffee tastes slightly legume-y.  I don't know how else to explain it.  I'll still drink it if Timmy's isn't around....  But Tim Horton's is definitely the BEST!  I can even get ti in the grocery store!

If you are a big coffee drinker at home let me know.  I WILL send you some Tim Horton's to try.  Let me know!!  If you're sold I'll send you cans to keep you stocked!  (ok, you'll have to pay me for the coffee if I start buying you big cans...)

addict

My name is Zoo Keeper and I'm a caffine addict.

I've been drinking a lot of coffee at work over the past year or so.

The Keurig makes it soooo easy! but that's what we have at work. I have a great Krups here at home. I got it for dad when he comes to visit. But almost NEVER use it if he's not here.

Yesterday I was having a craving for some frsh, homemade, local pastries. so at 7:30 am I set out to a local bakery I'd never visited before.

They didn't disappoint! I came home with danishes, muffins and an assortment of Italian cookies (that have become an oh-so integral part of my life since I got married).

All those sweet carbs were begging for a cup o joe. I was going to swing through Timmy's drive thru and then I remembered - I had Timmy's at home.

I brewed up half a pot. And drank it all. And was yearning for more. So this morning I brewed 3/4 pot. And I'm drinking it all!

By MYSELF!!

But the tell-tale symptom of a caffine addict?? After drinking all this coffee I don't had a headache...

New Bad Habit

I'm pretty sure that I was one of only a few college freshman (maybe the only??) to show up at Johnstone Hall with an espresso machine.  Really- I did.  I must have made 4-5 cappucinos a day.  ( in addition to the 4-5 Cokes out of the machine down the hall - but that's another story.)  I fondly recall the "Coffee Shop" downtown too.  Unfortunately I don't think it's there anymore... and I hear there's a Starbucks somewhere around campus now.  Poo!

After a few years I ditched the espresso and cappucinos for wine.  (wow, am I a snob, or what???)  I don't know exactly what happened to the espresso machine.  All I know is that it's long gone by now.

Over the years I haven't drank much coffee.  But since moving to this job over 4 years ago I have upped my java intake.  And it has especially spiked since we go the Keurig machine about 18 months ago.  I still drink a lot of tea - but I've noticed over the past 6 months the tea has taken a backseat to that dark, rich luscious brew.

Now that the hubby and I are getting up early I decided last night to break out the coffee machine I keep for when dad visits.  It's a nice Krups.  (I go all our for dad - only the best!  or at least what he consideres the best....  you know, like Bud Lite in bottles...)  It has that nifty programmable feature on it.  So I took full advantage.  That baby was brewing at 5:45 this morning.

The issue?  I'm still drinking just as much coffee at work.  Not only am I pretty sure this isn't that good for me - ingesting all this caffine - but I'm pretty sure it's not good for my teeth either.  Or these invisaligns.

OMG!  On another note - as I'm sitting here writing this I'm absently scratching at my chin.  I just realized my chin whisker is back!!!

AAAHHHHHHHH!!

Excuse me while I go to the restroom and wrestle it out of it's folicle.
